The In the Midst exhibition displayed the photography of artists active duing the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic (between 1980-1999). The exhibition included Peter Hujar, David Wojnarowicz, Leslie Kaliades, Albert J. Winn, and Andres Serrano. Their art is presented in roughly chronological order of the artist’s lives (and deaths) to tell the story of how this disease infiltrated communities and changed the way many people lived and created art throughout these two decades.
